Gold Medal game was a barn burner with The Jeffries' beating the McFalls' 17-16.
In the first 5 or 6 ends Peter McFalls could do no wrong. Probably put 3 of his 4 bowls each end exactly where he wanted them and built up an 11-0 lead even though Jeffries' was playing very well. Looked like an easy win as it got to 13-3 half way through the game.
Then the Jeffries' got a 6 end to get back in the game. Jeffries' got a 4 end in the 14th to tie the game at 16 coming home. In the final end Sandra Jeffries locked one on the medium length jack. Peter hit the shot bowl with a heavy shot and the jack went into the ditch but the Jeffries' bowl 9 feet from the ditch was still shot. Both of Peter's next 2 shots fell a foot short of the shot bowl and Jeffries' won.
Donohoe won the Silver game easily, leading 20 - 2 at one point .
2 of the 16 teams were skipped by ladies.
Caroline Cook made a good showing beating both Chris Stadnyk/Donna Stadnyk & Unky Zangwill/Shirley Ko quite easily before falling to Ken & Cindy Taylor.
Cathy Haskins lost her 1st game but then won 3 straight before being ousted by McFalls.
