2. SK Harriette Pituley, Murray Pituley 13
3. ON'B' Nic van Weesel, Joan Way 12

9. AB Helen McCrady, Paul Maskell 4 -60
10. QC Wayne Hossack, Faye Hossack 4 -65

Sunday, 12:15 AM
ON'B' does beat AB but SK sneak ahead by a point when they tie NS. The Pituley's do gold, van Weesel and Way play for bronze. How about that MB couple who stop the undefeated run of BC and grad the final spot in Sunday play. A nice finish by the Jefferies' with 2 wins on the final day including the last over the upstart NB team. Of the ten teams entered, half were married couples.
Saturday, 2:20 PM
ON'B' beats Alberta and NS victorious over SK and Ontario play BC to see who climbs to the top of the podium.
Saturday, 7:30 AM
Nic and Joan want to play for gold. They knocked off the highly successful Beezer and wife Lorraine yesterday to put the opportunity in their own hands. Even though the standings indicate 'easier' today, the path to a medal round remains thorny. Bowls is one sport that any team have the chance to beat the mighty any game, any place. Weather or not .... 11C and rainy.
Saturday, 12:30 AM
BC have clinched a gold berth. The next 5 teams in the standings now have math homework. How to divide 5 into 3 medal spots and = a positive number.
Two wins for both ON'B' and SK will put Ontario against BC for gold with SK in the bronze match. In other words if ON'B' equal the final match point total of SK, Ontario will surpass SK based on the tiebreaker. Not withstanding if both ON'B' and SK lose both games on this final Round Robin day, that will leave NS, MB and NB bowl wrestling for the medal games.
Friday, 7:30 AM
Four games to go, all teams  can see the podium but the fog will clear after today. A strong BC team rule the roost and it will be Ontario's turn to try and knock them off. It is especially important for van Weesel and Way in their quest for a gold match. They did make a statement yesterday with their squeaker 18-17 win over the ever competitive Pituley team. It is getting to be medal survival for the Jefferies' couple. They start with SK so no easy walk about on the schedule.
In fact this gathering of teams hasn't decided much to date except that it will be an exciting scramble to the Sunday medal round. Predicting match victories is difficult and these standings could look very different by Saturday.
Just the way you want it.

Round 7
10:00 AM (EDT)
ON'A' Maureen Thompson, Eileen Malpass, Carol Carter 4
MB'A' Elaine Jones, Clarice Fitzpatrick, Betty Van Walleghem 16
A four way battle between top 4 teams shaping up. Maureen and friends need to win at least 2 of 3 remaining games to have a chance at gold match. A good place to start is this game against the number 1 MB trio.

ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 15
NS Debbie Foster, Anita Knox, Valerie Bechard 16
Julia's team still have medal hopes and a win over 2nd place NS is a step up for both Ontario teams.

NB Nancy Cook, Noreen Bonnell, Verna Morrison 8

MB'A' Elaine Jones, Clarice Fitzpatrick, Betty Van Walleghem 22
ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 9

A good day two for Farrell's team. A pair of wins puts them back in the pursuit of precious medal.
The undefeated MB'A' team are on a golden run. Jones and Van Walleghem captured the Fours and Fitzpatrick the Pairs at the Nationals. A feather for ON'B''s cap to place a roadblock in their podium march.
ON'A' Glen Patton, Eldon McFadyen, Alex Graham 11
NB Pat Beggs, Jeff Mulhern, Walter Steeves 12

ON'B' Chuck Townsend, Doug Hoskin, Dave Gray 21
MB'A' Maurice Van Walleghem, Alan Clackson, John Baron 13
The London boys need this win. Two ties are good but the cost in total match points can leave you looking in from the outside.

ON'A' Maureen Thompson, Eileen Malpass, Carol Carter 14
ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 14
The kin get together and it will be competitive and close. And important moving forward!

Friday September 7
Round 3
10:00 AM (EDT)
ON'A' Maureen Thompson, Eileen Malpass, Carol Carter 8
SK'A' Barb Mannion, Freda Toffolo, Carolyn Jones 19
Carol Carter is a very consistent lead and she and Maureen just missed qualifying for the Canadian  Major Pairs. Eileen Malpass joined the team this year and brings her long experience in the summer game and Arizona winter training to make their medal challenge real.

ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 10
MN'B' Jean Roeland, Emilie Ammazzinni, Betty Grundy 6

ON'A' Glen Patton, Eldon McFadyen, Alex Graham 15
SK'A' David Calam, Ralph Van Iderstine, Wayne Slinn 14
Skip Calam was on fire against the ON'B' team so it is up to Patton's trio to put out the fire.

ON'B' Chuck Townsend, Doug Hoskin, Dave Gray 14
MB'B' Bob Van Walleghem, John Bjornson, Blaine Hyslop 14

Round 4

AB Cecilia Gillespie, Mary Gubitz, Vera Eddy 13

ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 11
SK'B' Vi McPherson, Jo Urquhart, Marg Kushnier 8
A key game for the Farrell crew against a two game winner . Close matches on Day 1 could easily turn in their favour today.

ON'A' Glen Patton, Eldon McFadyen, Alex Graham 17
AB Peter Gubitz, Allan Walker, Ross Richards 12

ON'B' Chuck Townsend, Doug Hoskin, Dave Gray 26
SK'B' Glen Mowery, Harry Robbins, Brian Davies 6
A solid effort in the BC tie so a full point day is in the cards today to put Townsend's team back in the medal hunt.
Thursday September 6
Round 1
11:00 AM (EDT)
WOMEN
ON'A' Maureen Thompson, Eileen Malpass, Carol Carter 16
NS Debbie Foster, Anita Knox, Valerie Bechard 14
A couple of the favourites clash on Day 1. Two experienced skips with both Foster and Knox continuing on from the Montreal Nationals.
ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 14
SK'A' Barb Mannion, Freda Toffolo, Carolyn Jones 15
Another strong team from Ontario. This team from the Burlington club features sisters Julia and Shirley and they want to complete this year with a flourish. Shirley indicated at the Windsor play downs that this may be her last year of competitive bowls.
MEN
ON'A' Glen Patton, Eldon McFadyen, Alex Graham 17
NS Calvin Bechard, Alex Vance, Keith Finck 14
The return of Glen Patton to the competitive Ontario scene, A champion bowler from the past has hardly missed a beat in his return to Canadian championships. He has joined with the veteran Eldon and the veteran, veteran Alex to provide a serious podium challenge.
ON'B' Chuck Townsend, Doug Hoskin, Dave Gray 4
SK'A' David Calam, Ralph Van Iderstine, Wayne Slinn 16
Always in the hunt, Townsend and Hoskin have tons of experience in playing for the top prize. Their teammate Gray has the ability, just not the opportunity to play at this level.
Van Iderstine now on home turf was a member of the silver medal team last year and Calam has been a medalist at the Majors and Seniors in the past.
Round 2
3:30 PM ( EDT)
ON'A' Maureen Thompson, Eileen Malpass, Carol Carter 22
MN'B' Jean Roeland, Emilie Ammazzinni, Betty Grundy 13

ON'B' Julia Farrell, Shirley Vidler, Freda Gersok 10
BC On Kow Au, Jaunita Tucker, Mary Wright 14
Mary Wright skipped and Tucker viced BC to Fours Silver at Montreal. With On Kow skipping this entry you have a hint of her bowling prowess. A challenge for the Burlington team but they also have that secret weapon in Freda Gersok, a bowler with South African experience.

ON'A' Glen Patton, Eldon McFadyen, Alex Graham 11
MB'B' Bob Van Walleghem, John Bjornson, Blaine Hyslop 17

ON'B' Chuck Townsend, Doug Hoskin, Dave Gray 11
BC Christie Graham, Francis Yau, Stanley Chow 11
This same BC team just squeezed out of the medal round last year in Port Alberni. Graham is a long time elite bowler from the province.
